Hard-to-Kill Plants for Fellow Plant Killers – These Work Even in Buffalo! [PHOTO]
I do NOT have a green thumb, but thanks to me waiting too long to mow and it being too wet to do so, DJ got green paws...
Now, as I've mentioned several times, I am NOT good at keeping plants alive. They can be the most hearty, simple-to-care-for things and put them in a four mile radius of me and they will wilt immediately. I'm the opposite of ET.
So this summer, I'm going to try my hand at some I found on this list because they SAY I will have a tough time killing them.
In case you have the same issue, check out my top five favorites...
Verbena
Pretty light purple flowers, allegedly "self-cleaning" and fungus resistant.
Euphorbia
Also known as "diamond frost", apparently, even deer won't eat these delicate white-flower plants.
Calibrachoa
"Petunia on steroids", this one is nice in hanging pots as they cascade and are also infection-resistant.
Lantana
Ornamental and delicate-looking, these also deter deer with their strong fragrance...the BIG bonus to ME: the blossoms attract hummingbirds and butterflies!
New Guinea Impatiens
Like their cousins, these come in pretty colors and work particularly well in low-sun areas!
