By now you know, my family loves baseball. We are also big Yankees fans, so last night's homerun derby was very exciting! Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano won the 2011 Home Run Derby in Phoenix, Arizona last night. There were also a couple of amazing catches in the outfield and in the pool at Chase Field!

Cano beat out Boston first baseman Adrian Gonzalez. Cano, who was in the derby for the first time in his career, smacked a final round-record 12 homeruns to beat Gonzalez. Cano's father, Jose, pitched to him in the contest.

Meanwhile, the outfield was filled with little leaguers chasing balls that didn't make it over the wall.  Cano hit this one that fell short, but made for a great highlight for one of the kids.  Check out this catch.

Then there was this catch -- in the pool! The ball was hit by Gonzalez. I don't know what's better, the catch or that the guy didn't spill his beer?
