Buffalo is losing another familiar face from their local newscasts.

Just a week after Abby Fridmann left the WIVB morning show, today we found out that Channel 2 meteorologist Elyse Smith is leaving as well.

Smith posted on her Twitter page that April 28th was her final day at WGRZ.

Smith had been in Buffalo for the past three years. Before working in Buffalo, she was a meteorologist at KRCG in Missouri. She didn't announce if she is leaving for a new job or a different station.

Over the past several years there have been several changes at local TV stations with anchors, reporters, and metrologists leaving.

Some have left for promotions like Gabby Mediak from Channel Four, some have left the business completely like Kelly Khatin who is now the communications manager at the NFTA, and others like Fridmann left and have not announced what their plans are for the future.

Smith has already been removed from the WGRZ website and no announcement has been made on who will be replacing her at the station.
