Woman Dies While In Police Custody
An investigation is underway in the Town of Tonawanda after a woman died while in police custody.
Authorities took 59-year-old Peggy Gaiser into custody on Wednesday after she was suspected of driving under the influence of drugs. She was then placed in a jail cell overnight, where she had a medical emergency.
Gaiser was rushed to Kenmore Mercy Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police are not releasing any information about the Gaiser's death, and the investigation continues.
